Introduction to Infectious Bite
A plague of ignorance surges through the human population. Infectious Bite dispels some of the myths surrounding vampires & educates humankind about malaria--the infection that affects us all.
Hello Humans
We have a bone to pick with you...
Why are you obsessed with vampires? First, there were a few fictitious accounts: Stoker penned Dracula, & Rice crafted The Vampire Chronicles. Then came the movies: Blade, Underworld, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Most of these stories were rather silly, but nothing to cause serious complaint.
But now, True Blood and Twilight have swept the world in a storm of non-human blood and good feelings.
"Why can't a vampire sweep me off my feet like Edward Cullen?" Girls swoon.
It's ridiculous!
The Horror Story You Haven't Heard
Disease threatens our food supply. Every year, malaria infects 350-500 million people. Over a million children die each year from the disease. Yet, malaria is largely ignored. Your apathy infuriates us.
Do you know what it's like to drink infected blood?--It's disgusting!
Malaria is preventable and treatable, in most cases; however, poor communities throughout the world cannot afford the necessary precautions. People die, and we suffer.
Our Proposal
You want to believe in romantic, super-hero vampires? Fine, you make our continued-existences easier.
You want to obsess about blood-drinkers? Do something about the food supply. Eradicate the world of those little blood-sucking mosquitoes that spread disease. Maybe then, vampires can enjoy a decent meal again.
Our proposition is simple: Make advances against malaria, and we will let you have your fictions--no matter how ridiculous you make us look.
But, if I hear one more thing about glittering vampires...
